Special Bulletin Nº 104 - March 2006 (complete version)
Biodiversity is not just about species, habitats and genes: it is about life and interactions between the different species, including us humans. In this issue of the WRM Bulletin we aim at putting a human face to biodiversity, providing information about how some human actors (mostly in corporations) impact on species, habitats and genes, and on how this is destroying the lives and livelihoods of many more fellow humans who depend on biodiversity for survival. We have divided the bulletin in two sections -forests and plantations- in order to stress the differences between both, which --incredibly enough-- are still being confused by “expert” actors and processes such as the FAO, the United Nations Forum on Forests, the Convention on Climate Change and even the Convention on Biological Diversity.

Special Bulletin 56 - March 2002 (complete version)
The Sixth Conference of the Parties of the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) will take place in April in The Hague. Much is expected from this conference regarding forests, because this is the main thematic issue which will be addressed by the meeting. Additionally, the basis for negotiation is the draft programme of work elaborated last November by the CBD's scientific body (SBSTTA), which we welcomed (see WRM bulletin 52) as pointing at the right direction, including local peoples' rights, participation, equitable sharing of benefits, sustainable use, capacity-building and many other relevant issues.

Special Bulletin 44 - March 2001 (complete version)
The world is increasingly concerned over the disappearance of life forms on Earth and many organizations --governmental and non governmental-- appear to be trying to find solutions to the problem. However, in most cases they are failing, either because of implementing the wrong solutions --or more simply for not doing anything-- or because the political, economic and social causes which are at the root of the problem are not being adequately addressed.
