Costa Rica declared a country free of oil exploration

Once again we request your participation. This is about making a public tribute to the new Costa Rican President, Dr. Abel Pacheco de la Espriella, who has declared Costa Rica, at his first presidential speech, a country free of oil exploration and development activities, and of open pit mining. The country´s 
general population and the environmentalist movement particularly, have very gladly received this news. Naturally, mining and oil interests have strongly criticized this desition.

We wish to invite you to send short encouraging messages to President Pacheco, as well as to his Minister of Environment, Carlos Manuel Rodríguez, (click here for sample letter) as a way to demonstrate that broad international groups appreciate the brave position taken. Their email addresses are:
