International Day Against Tree Monocultures

September 21, the International Day Against Monoculture Tree Plantations, is a day for our organizations, networks and movements to celebrate resistance and raise our voices to demand, Stop the Expansion of Monoculture Tree Plantations! which threaten the sovereignty of our peoples.

We invite you to join the annual campaign that continues to grow every year, reaching new places where different types of activities are carried out: press releases, distribution of flyers, conferences, seminars, public demonstrations, information campaigns on websites and social networks, etc.

We hope you will join us in spreading the message and working together to build a day of resistance and struggle that grows stronger every year!

This new report intends to be a tool for local activists and organizations that already deal with or are forced to deal now with this problem. 	Defend life We would like the short animation “Defend life” –about the impacts of monoculture tree plantations on local communities to be available in many different languages and in many different places on the internet. If you have a website, a blog, a Facebook account, or any other means of showing this video to more people, then please share it, distribute it, use it any way you can! We invite you to translate the video’s short script into other languages and send us your translations. As soon as we receive a translation, we will create a new version of the animation in that language and post it on our website.
